Majestic Princess named

PRINCESS Cruises’ ship tailormade for China, Majes c Princess, has been officially named by its naming ambassador­s, Chinese basketball­ers Yao Ming and Ye Li.

The occasion was marked with a ceremony held over the weekend in Shanghai.

“Majes c Princess, our new flagship, is a perfect demonstrat­ion of an ‘East meets West’ internatio­nal cruise vacation experience,” said Jan Swartz, group president, Princess Cruises and Carnival Australia.

“Representi­ng over 50 years of experience, we are confident Majes c Princess has redefined the luxury cruising experience.”

Majes c Princess boasts nearly 1,100m2 of boutiques and a range of entertainm­ent offerings including musical and cinematic experience Fantastic Journey, private karaoke, a water fountain and multi-media light show and movies under the stars.

In the dining department there’s a restaurant from three Michelinst­ar chef Emmanuel Renaut called La Mer and a specialty Cantonese restaurant with a dinner menu designed by Michelin-star chef Richard Chen named Harmony.

In addition, there is the World Fresh Marketplac­e with flavours from around the globe, The Bakery offering Chinese bakery favourites, Gong Cha (the bubble milk tea brand), American steakhouse Crown Grill, Lobster Grill and Dim Sum Bar and Italian restaurant, Alfredo’s Pizzeria.

A new youth program, “Camp Discovery” is also on board.
