New CLIA learning course

-

CRUISE Lines International Association (CLIA) has introduced a new course on the world’s great rivers.

World River Cruising is available for members travel agents now, and complements the existing European River Cruising elective, bringing the total number of training courses available in Australasia to 81.

Available through the CLIA Members Hub, World River Cruising will take agents on a virtual journey along many of the world’s great inland waterways, including the Amazon, Brahmaputra, Ganges, Irrawaddy, Mekong, Nile, Mississippi and Yangtze.

The new elective is designed to give agents a comprehensive understanding of what their clients can expect on each river, from the onboard activities and vessel design of the major operators to shoreside experiences.

The course also covers each river’s distinct features including seasonality, attractions, and pre- & post-cruise options, while also providing insight on target markets and sales tips.

Cruise Lines International Association Head of International Training & Development Peter Kollar said the new course was the latest in a string of additions to the Association’s suite of professional development opportunities.

“CLIA’s Members Hub now offers more than 100 hours of specialised industry training including Core Units that provide fundamental cruise selling skills and electives that cover focused topics such as the new World River Cruising course,” he said.
