Prima makes debut in the heart of Texas

-

NORWEGIAN Cruise Line and American singer Kelly Clarkson have celebrated Norwegian Prima’s Texas debut this week.

Clarkson, who is also Godmother to Norwegian Encore,

gave a performance during the cruise, with special guests including President & Chief Executive Officer Harry Sommer and Norwegian Bliss Godfather Elvis Duran.

The singer delivered a rendition of her chart-topping hits, including Miss Independent, Stronger, and Since U Been Gone.

Also celebrating during the voyage are 100 winning educators, who have scored a free cruise aboard Prima as part of Norwegian’s “Giving Joy” award ceremony.

Norwegian donated nearly USD$170,000 to the winning teachers’ schools.

“It was such an honour to celebrate the 100 deserving winners of Norwegian’s Giving Joy program at Norwegian Prima’s

inaugural sailing, which embarked from my home state of Texas,” Clarkson enthused.

“Teachers are our true everyday unsung heroes, and they play an integral role in our society, not only shaping the future of their students, but the future of their communities as well.

“I couldn’t miss the opportunity to participate in this program and give a special performance before they set sail on the trip of a lifetime!”

Giving Joy is a month-long campaign which launched during the United States’ National Teacher Appreciation Week (0206 May) to recognise deserving educators for their unwavering commitment to their classroom.

Following Prima’s inaugural voyage from Galveston, she will sail an 11-day itinerary to the Caribbean with calls to Cozumel, Oranjestad, Kralendijk, and Norwegian’s private island in the Bahamas, Great Stirrup Cay, before arriving in Miami for her debut from South Florida.

She will return to Galveston for a season of Caribbean voyages in the winter of 2023/2024.
