Cubes Roche Bobois
Something may look familiar about the Aster table from Roche Bobois. That’s because French designer Reda Amalou drew inspiration for it from a building that fascinates as much now as it did when it opened in 1970. The ring of arcing columns – parabolic in section – that define Oscar Niemeyer’s incredible Cathedral of Brasilia inspired Amalou to create a timber structure of nine legs, forking at the top to support a glass plate, and held together by a steel ring. Viewed from above, the table appears as a series of arrows pointing inward to the ring. Aster is available in three sizes.
