When it comes to furniture, nothing spells classic like a wellmade leather sofa. Founded in 1921, Italian furniture brand Frag has nearly a century’s worth of leather furniture manufacturing know-how. The secret to the brand’s longevity is its continuous exploration of leather craftsmanship, guided by the vision of its designer collaborators.
There is something for every generation of leather lovers from Frag this year. Debuted at Salone del Mobile in Milan, the 2019 collection comprises new and expanded ranges curated by the brand’s Art Director Ferruccio Laviani.
Young design studio DainelliStudio puts a stylish update on the classic leather sofa with Otis, which features a decidedly contemporary proportion – generous seat depth, sloping armrest that matches its curving metal feet, and low seat height that invites one to put one’s feet up.
Another young design studio, Analogia Project, uses leather as a decorative element with a family of small tables named
Motif. The collection features striking geometric patterns meticulously stitched together from many precisely cut leather pieces. This leather inlay is offered in many colours and options for personalisation, making each Motif table a tailored item. In Singapore, Frag is available from P5 and P5 Studio.
