Construction

Pedro’s 225g ICM (Intensive Care Unit Multi Tool) offers 17 functions, and tools made from heat-treated tool steel with an anti-corrosion finish clamped in a composite body.

What’s it got?

The fold-out tools are 2, 2.5, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 8mm Allen keys, flat and Phillips screwdrivers, one including a bottle opener, Torx T25, lengthy Mavic M7 spoke wrench and a chain tool, which isn’t designed for 11-speed chains. A cross-shaped steel tool with two spoke wrenches lifts out from a recess, and a pair of chunky tyre levers press firmly on to each side of the tool for storage.

Handling

All of the Allen keys, bar the stumpy 28mm 8mm one, are at least 55mm long, as are the screwdrivers and Torx. At 70mm, the Mavic M7 spoke wrench should reach anything. The tools are well made and engage accurately, with a good amount of torque possible from their rigid bent-end construction. The tool body is reasonably comfortable to grip with or without the tyre levers attached, although it’s still 45mm wide without them. The chain tool works well, and it’s possible to use a tyre lever for extra leverage.

Would you?

The ICM is reasonably large, but offers beefy, well-finished tools with good reach that are easy to work with. It’s quite heavy too, and has no cover, leaving you to decide between cost, weight and usability.
