Construction

PRO’s 173g tool splits into two, and comprises 10 nickel-plated fold-out tools within the alloysided main body, and the other 12 tools on or in a slim, slideoff plastic piece that also keeps everything together.

What’s it got?

The main body holds 2, 2.5, 3, 4, 5, 6 and a flattened 8mm Allen keys, a PH2 Phillips screwdriver, plus T10 and T25 Torx keys, each clearly stamped to avoid confusion. The tough plastic cover contains an 11-speed chain tool, with the other end incorporating a tyre lever and pad spreader. Inside, there’s a chain holder, a magnet retaining a flat steel tool with four spoke wrenches, 7, 8, 9 and 10mm spanners and a flat screwdriver.

Handling

The fold-out tools are 40mm long, and although they don’t lock in place, their shape means they’re rigid when turning, and they stay where you put them. Engagement is accurate, the sculpted sides are comfortable to hold, and the width doesn’t restrict access. The chain tool is turned by the 4mm Allen key, and its long body makes it quite easy to use, and for emergency use the flat steel spanners are adequate.

Would you?

With a simple, uncluttered design and great usability, the PRO minitool is definitely worthy of dropping in to your jersey pocket on every ride, and its tough velcrofastened nylon pouch means it won’t snag either.
