Are you sitting comfortably? I don’t mean right now of course – you’re probably in your favourite armchair, or the bath – but when you’re riding. One of the toughest products for us to test is the humble saddle. The perfect perch for your posterior is a highly personal preference and, as John Whitney discovers this month, even the saddle makers don’t agree on the best way for us to measure and choose a seat. John has struggled for years to find a saddle that doesn’t leave him squirming, so we sent him to try out a number of different fitting systems. Turn to page 100 to see if John’s saddle soreness is cured! Me? I’m proudly saddle agnostic and rarely suffer in my seat, which either means I’ve lost all feeling in my rear or

just don’t ride enough!
