ALTURA PELOTON PROGEL II

£59.99 › Multi-panel construction for multi-hour rides

-

Weight 220g (S) Sizes S-XXL Colour Black

The Progel II bibs deliver a supportive yet forgiving fit that works well for a variety of body shapes and styles of riding. The elastic leg grippers with silicone inners aren’t as wide as most on test here but do their job without issue. Inside, Altura’s multi-density ProGel pad sits well and does a good job of wicking so there’s never an issue of getting overly sweaty downstairs. While the ProGel isn’t as firm as some, we had no problem in the saddle. The wide mesh upper bibs keep things in place while breathing well. A good value and subtle looking pair of bibs offering a compassionate ride.

INSIDE INFO

Inside your shorts When you are looking at potential purchases, a vital area to consider is the inner chamois pad, after all, it’s there to look after your, erm, vital areas. Back in the day the pad would have been made from leather, and although manufacturers these days have opted for manmade materials of different density layers of padding, the chamois moniker remains. As a general rule, the more time you’ll be spending in the saddle, the denser you’ll want that padding to be, particularly towards the rear, underneath your sit bones. To get the best from your shorts, and further reduce chafing or soreness, you should consider applying a chamois cream too.
