To the Jura, northwest of Geneva close to the Swiss border, and another opportunity for the break to go all the way. An up and down stage comes to a crescendo with the final climb of the magnificently named Côte de la Combe de Laisia Les Molunes, to Les Rousses ski resort. It’s not a hard climb – 4.6 per cent over 17.25km – and the action isn’t over at the summit. Another 11km remain, with a few undulations, for someone to seek glory. With what’s to come on Sunday, and with the course today, movements on GC may be put on ice.
