PÉRIGUEUX BERGERAC
DISTANCE 178KM TERRAIN FLAT
The first rest day gives the race juggernaut the chance to say goodbye to the east – for now – and transfer to the southwest region of Dordogne. It’s just three years since the race travelled between Périgueux and Bergerac but then, in 2014, it was in the opposite direction, as the crow flies, in a time trial that secured Vincenzo Nibali’s maiden Tour title. This year they’re heading the long way around, and it’ll be another chance for sprinters to resume hostilities, one of the few remaining before Paris, in a race that’s made for pure climbers.
