VERDICT

We were very impressed with the quality of glasses on test here, which proved that you don’t need to spend a king’s ransom to keep the sun out of your eyes when you’re riding.

The BBB Winners are available for just over 20 quid and they’re a nifty little pair of sunnies, and the lightest on test too. But the Uvex Sportstyle glasses take the budget honours, delivering a great look and feel for less than 40 quid, though you might want to invest in a hard case.

Spend more and there are some superb sunglasses from the likes of Scott, Kask, POC and Bollé. Both Scott and Kask benefit from supersimple lens-swapping systems, which can be an issue with some glasses, and our overall winner also scores very highly here.

Smith’s PivLock Arena Max glasses have superb, wide-coverage lenses, and swapping between lenses is a stress-free cinch. And while not cheap, they are worth the money.
