The 8114 is a budget priced alternative to Abus’ Bordo Granit, and its similar plate and link design offers the same convenient compact package. Its corrosion resistance was spot on and it worked perfectly posttesting. A standard saw blade got through it in under 20 seconds, and the tungsten blade even quicker. Bolt cropper resistance was fair, but nothing special. The pull-proof disc design Z-Barrel lock mechanism is highly pick resistant but the grinder soon broke through. As a quick stop, medium security solution the 8114 is miles ahead of most cheap cable locks. Add this to a quality U-lock for a decent setup.
