There is a knack to getting the Keeper folded up, but once done it makes it easy to carry

Weight 1340g Link size 7mm square links Size 95cm Rating Sold Secure Gold

The Keeper is a neat idea, taking the compact folded shape of a plate lock like the Bordo but using more flexible and, potentially, tougher chain links. There is a knack to getting the Keeper folded up, but once done it makes it easy to carry. For a modestly priced lock it’s pretty hardy too, taking all of the abuse from a standard saw blade and a combined time with tungsten just shy of a minute. Bolt crop resistance wasn’t great, and against a grinder it’s nothing special either. Corrosion resistance is excellent for a lower priced lock, and the quality lock barrel resists picking and pulling well. Though two strikes from our hammer at 1m were enough to break it. For the money the Keeper does a good job and for low risk use we’d recommend it. The Keeper highlights the disparity in the British ratings, that it can earn the same rating as Kryptonite’s own range-topping models is strange and we’re sure even Kryptonite would admit that the Keeper isn’t designed for the same theft resistance as its legendary U-locks and chains.
