How much power do you need?

When it comes to being seen, anything over 100 lumens will do the job, though obviously the brighter the light the more it will leap out from busy backgrounds or other lights. When it comes to seeing, we’d consider a good quality 600 lumen light to be a minimum for uncompromised pace on reasonable surfaces. Once things start getting rougher, twistier or faster, having nearer 1000 lumens definitely gives you more confidence to keep on the gas and off the brakes. Just be careful where you’re pointing that kind of power on the road though, as oncoming drivers rightly won’t take kindly to being blinded.
