BAD ROBOT

A self-driving Uber vehicle killed Elaine Herzberg, 49, in Arizona, as she walked in the road with her bicycle. It is believed to be the first fatal incident involving a pedestrian, and there have been calls to suspend testing of the vehicles.

MARK-ED MAN

Mark Cavendish’s rotten luck with crashes so far in 2018 carried on at Milan-Sanremo, where he hit a traffic bollard near the finish and catapulted through the air, breaking a rib.
