WHAT HAPPENS ON TOUR...

Our very own Ned Boulting is returning to the stage with another one-man show, Tour de Ned, where he’ll dissect the 2018 Tour de France with “music, theatre and searing rants”. The tour opens on 28 September in Southampton.

ON YER BIKE

British Cycling’s former head physio and bike fitter Phil Burt has gone it alone with Phil Burt Innovation. His new company, based in London and Manchester, is a one-stop-shop for getting cyclists in sync with their bike and staying injury-free.

POLE POSITION

Marcin Bialoblocki took over a minute out of his British national 25-mile time trial record. He rode 42mins 58 seconds - not just the first sub-44 ride, but sub-43 too.

NOT SO FAB

In the same week Mark Cavendish slammed race vehicles for influencing results, Fabio Aru was hit with a 20-second penalty for drafting a police bike in the Giro TT.

MEXICO MURDER

Two round-the-world cyclists are feared murdered in Mexico. The bodies of Holger Hagenbusch and Krzysztof Chmielewski were found in late April, with the special prosecutor to the case saying their injuries point to foul play.

CAT ATTACK

A man died and his friend was seriously injured in a cougar attack while cycling in Washington state. The mountain lion rarely attacks humans, but stalked the pair before pouncing.
