Our very own Ned Boulting is returning to the stage with another one-man show, Tour de Ned, where he’ll dissect the 2018 Tour de France with “music, theatre and searing rants”. The tour opens on 28 September in Southampto­n.

ON YER BIKE

British Cycling’s former head physio and bike fitter Phil Burt has gone it alone with Phil Burt Innovation. His new company, based in London and Manchester, is a one-stop-shop for getting cyclists in sync with their bike and staying injury-free.

POLE POSITION

Marcin Bialoblock­i took over a minute out of his British national 25-mile time trial record. He rode 42mins 58 seconds - not just the first sub-44 ride, but sub-43 too.

NOT SO FAB

In the same week Mark Cavendish slammed race vehicles for influencin­g results, Fabio Aru was hit with a 20-second penalty for drafting a police bike in the Giro TT.

MEXICO MURDER

Two round-the-world cyclists are feared murdered in Mexico. The bodies of Holger Hagenbusch and Krzysztof Chmielewsk­i were found in late April, with the special prosecutor to the case saying their injuries point to foul play.

CAT ATTACK

A man died and his friend was seriously injured in a cougar attack while cycling in Washington state. The mountain lion rarely attacks humans, but stalked the pair before pouncing.
