ENDURA XTRACT

£52.99 › Endura’s entry-level lid works well whatever bike you’re on

-

Sizes S-M (50-56cm), M-L (55-59cm), L-XL (58-63cm) Colours White, red Vents 12 Weight 300g with peak (S-M) The Xtract is Endura’s entry-level all-round helmet and comes with a removable peak, which is ideal for wet days and trail riding. Being made in Scotland it’s no surprise to see an integrated insect net covering the main front vents either.

The one-hand micro adjustment works a treat and there’s also vertical adjustment available. The compact chin strap sits well, is quick to adjust and stays in place with lockdown cams. Despite the modest price Endura has fitted a three-mode USB charge LED light in the rear of the Xtract that helps when you’re commuting and for those flat light days on the road. It’s a good package that works for the majority of your riding duties. It is also backed up with Endura’s 50 per cent off three-year crash replacement policy.

INSIDE INFO

Crash replacement Helmets aren’t indestructible, but are more hard-wearing in day-to-day use thanks to a robust outer shell, which is in-moulded to the EPS (Expanded Polystyrene) inner during manufacture. This EPS shell may crack or break under heavy impact, which is perfectly normal, so the shock isn’t absorbed by your head. Following a hard crash, even if there are no visible cracks or breakage, we recommend that you replace a helmet. Some brands offer a crash replacement warranty, which varies from a free replacement to discounts on a subsequent purchase, but these are usually only available within a limited time period from the original purchase.
