Sigma ROX 11 Equipped

-

Sigma’s latest ROX GPS computer might be relatively small but is loaded with features, which it presents and processes in a commendably consistent and businesslike way.

The list of different ways it can display every imaginable data set from speed/distance basics, through to super-detailed wattage, heart rate and lap information, text/email notifications and Shimano Di2 and SRAM eTap compatibility is mind-bogglingly comprehensive.

It can take a while to learn Sigma’s preferred menu protocol and up/ downloading via the Sigma Link smartphone app and Data Centre software can be stubborn to start. With a bit of patience and practice it’s rock solid in use and the post-ride analysis graphics are simple and easy to use. Simple bread crumb navigation can be augmented with text notes signalled by an audible alarm.

While it’s small, the screen is clearly visible in a wide range of light/weather conditions. The side buttons are relatively easy to find even with fat winter gloves. Our Equipped version came with a full set of Bluetooth Smart/ANT+ speed and cadence sensors and a heart rate belt, which all gave solidly consistent connections throughout testing.

If you don’t need it bundled with sensors, the Rox 11 headunit is ‘only’ £185 and it fits into any Garmin compatible mount. Battery life is generally close to the claimed 13 hours and Sigma computer reliability has always been excellent, which makes it a shrewd investment if you really want to dig deep into your riding data.
