TEARING UP

Stage 16 of the Tour de France had to be stopped temporaril­y after police tried to disperse a farmers’ protest with tear gas, leading several riders – including Geraint Thomas – to seek medical attention.

CZECHED OUT

Visitors to the Czech capital Prague can no longer ride bikes in some of the city’s most popular tourist spots. The mayor claims that the streets aren’t wide enough for pedestrian­s and cyclists.
