Hong Kong’s annual oneday cycling event is about to become bigger and better than ever. As well as the usual host of exciting amateur events, this year will also see 11 UCI WorldTour teams take part in Hammer Hong Kong, the finale of the 2018 Hammer Series.

The Sun Hung Kai Properties Hong Kong Cyclothon takes place on Sunday 14 October 2018. It’s a unique platform for amateur cyclists to take on a 30km or 50km route through a diverse cityscape – and against a backdrop of Hong Kong’s world-famous skyline. With events for individuals and teams, men, women and children, there really is something for everyone.

The spectacular Cyclothon route takes riders from Tsim Sha Tsui to Tsing Yi, Ma Wan and back to Tsim Sha Tsui, passing some of Hong Kong’s most iconic landmarks. Those tackling the longer route will also get to ride through tunnels and cross three of the city’s spectacular bridges; Tsing Ma Bridge, Ting Kau Bridge and Stonecutters Bridge.

Experience the Hammer Series

As if that’s not enough excitement, this special day in October will also see Hammer Hong Kong, the finale of the 2018 Hammer Series – no wonder it’s being called ‘Showdown Sunday’. For the very first time, the glorious setting of Victoria Harbour will be the location for two back-to-back races to decide which team is crowned Hammer Series 2018 champions.

Some of the world’s top professional cyclists will be battling it out in the fast and furious Hammer Sprint and gruelling 21.5km Hammer Chase. There are some magnificent vantage points along the way, so you’ll have no trouble finding a great spot to take in all the action. To find out more visit:
