E V ERVE ME BIB SHORTS & ONE JERSE Y

-

German online retailer everve offers superbly functional and stylish gear to riders.

Bib shorts

The seat area has two layers of four-way stretch fabric, and each half of the two-part seat pad is encapsulated within an individual pocket that’s accessed via several opposing baffled openings.

The reason you need access to the seat pad is because everve’s minimal padding philosophy allows you to swap the paired pads over to customise the thickness and coverage. There are nine thicknesses of dense polyurethane foam available and the pads are supplied in two shapes: standard and what everve call me.nimalist. Standard pads have a 181mm-long elongated droplet shape, while the me.nimalist ones are more pear-shaped and 136mm long.

The multi-panel shorts can be ordered with low- or high-fronted bibs. Our high pair has a stretchy mesh section above the waist that’s flattering and comfortable, while the entire back is similarly meshy.

Our e7 standard pads felt less bulky than we expected, but with all the comfort we needed. Swapping pads is a little fiddly the first time, but an online video is available to help.

With no padding or towelling up front, there’s no discomfort or chafing from bunching, and a definite sense of limited freedom, plus improved breathability.

Jersey

Overshadowed on the tech front by the bib shorts, the one jersey is nevertheless very nicely constructed with soft, superstretchy Polyamide Lycra and has a tough full-length zip with lower protector. Generously long, raw-edge sleeves, a tallerthan-average collar, plus three drop pockets with internal reinforcement add to the flapfree fit, which remains bodyhugging without feeling over tight anywhere. It’s simple, understated and beautifully designed.
