Bontrager’s Elite Aero is a 6066-T6 alloy bar that has been designed to save time. Here, Bontrager has created a wing bar with flattened tops designed for the best aerodynamic advantage. Bontrager claims this will save 23 seconds over a traditional round bar. This is hard to quantify out on the road but we’re sure there is a time saving, and the shape is comfortable when sitting up on the tops. We also like that Bontrager has deliberately made sure there’s plenty of wrist clearance here, too. The Elite Aero features a rounded centre portion for clamping, but Bontrager has left enough room to fit clip-on aero bars. The trade-off is weight but the time saving negates this. A high-performing bar taking cues from Bontrager’s high-end kit.

We like the minimalist stealth looks of the forged alloy Pro Blendr, and at sub 150g it is in the lightweight camp. To acheive this, Bontrager uses a simple dual band four-bolt front clamping system with corrosive resistant M5 steel bolts. The shape of the squared main shaft means it’s easy to mount lights or computers here, or it can be setup with Bontrager’s neat Blendr XXX accessory mounts that fit in front of the stem. Neat and functional, if a little pricey.

Bontrager offers the cheapest carbon seatpost on test sitting in the middle ground price-wise of the cheaper alloy posts and the more expensive carbon models here. It combines a carbon post with a two-bolt forged 6062 alloy head that offers 15 degrees of adjustment. It’s easy to fit with its sprung head and does an good all-round job.
