Velocità by Daily Auto Fix

EDITOR WELCOME

- By Ashley Perkins

Welcome to Issue 02 of Velocità by Daily Auto Fix! In the world of cars, it has been a very interesting period, especially here in Australia. Holden is leaving the Australian market, health concerns cancelled the Geneva International Motor Show, and Uber will have flying vehicles built by Hyundai doing trials shortly.

In this issue, I experience one of the most luxurious brands you can buy in Australia, and the world, as Rolls-Royce opens a showroom in Brisbane. I never fully understood why people buy vehicles as decadent as a Rolls-Royce is, but I can say I’m a convert.

As you’ll see across the page, we also talk to an interesting man with a fascinating story of owning a Ferrari 250 GTO when he was nineteen. From encounters with Steve McQueen and driving up and down the Hollywood Hills, it’s a good read, and the accompanying podcast episode is a great listen.

Electric and hybrid vehicles dominate the news and the reviews this time, and it’s a big nod to where our car market is heading. Driving range is still very much a big part of the conversation, but affordability and range of choice have improved significantly, and I expect it to keep growing at a rapid rate.

If there’s a specific vehicle you’d like us to review or discuss, you can drop us a note to the email below: velocita@dailyautofix.com

Happy Driving!
