11 WINE LIFE

-

Adelaide is a town full of wine-lovers, and the Tasting Room at East End Cellars (25 Vardon Ave, eastendcellars.com.au) is where they congregate. Operating as both a bottle shop and wine bar, this smart, buzzy establishment features lesser-known makers alongside renowned producers (Penfolds, Wendouree and the like). Owner Michael Andrewartha estimates that, in any given year, there are some 3000 different labels on the shelves from “all corners of the globe”. Choose from the by-the-glass list, opt for a wine-flight from the winery of the week, or, for a corkage fee ($15), pick a bottle from the cellar shelves to enjoy at one of the tables. Team it with a selection of cured meats and cheeses – arguably the best platters in the city centre.
