Guy Savoy shows us the best of Paris.

There are guides to the City of Light, but none as in-the-know as one from renowned French chef Guy Savoy.

ALL CITIES ARE UNIQUE, but some cities are more unique than others! I am at home when I am in Paris: lots of memories, lots of friends… What better way to say that Paris is my city!

All travellers must visit the 6th arrondissement of Paris once in their life, as two of my restaurants are located there, and you can experience two very different cuisines: the gastronomic Restaurant Guy Savoy and the street food-style Supu

Ramen. This arrondissement is also worth a visit for the monuments and special sites such as Le Pont des Arts, l’Institut

(Académie Française), Le Louvre, the Seine and its bouquinistes (booksellers’ stalls). The 20th arrondissement is also one of my favourite areas in Paris; it is often overlooked by visitors but it offers diverse cuisines, perfect for eclectic gourmets.

We are lucky in France, and of course in Paris, to get an incredible diversity of products and dishes. If I have to choose one dish all gourmands should try, it is my famous artichoke and black truffle soup, which has a special place in my heart.

To dine with close friends,

I love Le Coq Rico, followed by a walk on the Montmartre hill.

For a romantic dinner on a Sunday night, head to BellottaBellota Champs Elysees. I like Galerie du Plaza Athenee for a sweet afternoon tea ( le goûter as we say in France), and all the cafes that have a terrace from Montmartre to Saint-Germain-des-Pres!

Everyone will be able to find exceptional places in Paris. Some of the best places and things to do are: a walk along the Saint-Martin Canal, watching the sun set on the Pont des Arts and seeing an exhibition at the Louvre.

There are so many outstanding landscapes all over the world, but there is only one Paris!

Guy Savoy will be travelling to Sydney for a very special Paris gala dinner in September 2021.
