Resistance training is your secret weight-loss weapon, says exercise physiologist John Felton. Why? Whether you lift weights, use resistance bands or work with your own body weight – think sit-ups and push-ups – you are building lean muscle tissue, which helps you burn kilojoules, even when you’re not exercising.
