Little Beauty II
Trzebinia, Poland
1 “This photo was taken in my garden. The Small Heath (Coenonympha pamphilus) is a butterfly species belonging to the family Nymphalidae. It is a common butterfly in my region. He is sitting on a flowering maple (Abutilon x hybridum).
“I took this photo a little bit from below, so the main angle was on the background of trees. The leaves and light allowed me to create an pleasing bokeh in the background. The day was overcast, so the light was diffused.
“In Lightroom, I reinforced the colours of the butterfly wings, and completely changed the colour of background and leaves from green to blue.” Nikon D300 with Tamron 90mm lens; 1/100 sec at f/5.6, ISO 320
