When Gianstefano came to post-production, he added textured layers in Photoshop. “My pictures are paintings for me,” he says. “I paint them with textures I created myself.” By using his own brushes, he has retained control over the final result. The shot evokes nostalgic feelings of traditional media such as painting, but doesn’t look gimmicky.
