UNDERSTAND THE HISTOGRAM

The histogram makes it easy to correct for any metering errors, as you can see whether the shape of the histogram matches the tones of the scene. Dark areas in an image should be shown on the left of the graph, midtones in the middle and bright areas on the right. If they’re not, use exposure compensation to slide the histogram left or right.
