Epson SureColor P600
£570/$790 It lets you print the bigger picture
Aiming for top-quality black-and-white as well as colour output, nine pigment-based inks include no fewer than four
black and grey inks. ‘Photo black’ and ‘matte black’ cartridges share a channel in the print head, so each time you switch between glossy and matte media, you need to purge the channel of ink and replenish it with the alternative type. This can take over five minutes and wastes ink.
The P600’s roll feeder enables you to create prints with the aspect ratio you want, even stretching to panoramic prints. High-capacity cartridges are a good match for large-format printing, containing nearly three times as much ink as the XP-960. Performance Glossy prints look rather less smooth than from the Canon Pro-10S pigment printer, but are acceptable. Colour accuracy is excellent and mono prints on matte media look magnificent.
