Miggo Pictar One/One Plus
From £100/$100
The Pictar case gives you five physical buttons and works in conjunction with an app to enhance manual camera control.
The case’s sculpted grip is great for one-handed shooting, and you can now shoot while wearing gloves.
The shutter release button is twostage, enabling a half-press to focus. The customisable front wheel/button and two top dials zoom, switch between cameras, adjust exposure compensation and cycle through scene modes.
Pictar’s buttons send signals to your phone via ultrasonic sound frequencies. The connection stayed stable in our testing, and lag is minimal.
Build quality feels less substantial than the Bitplay or ExoLens case, and the case’s 33mm depth makes it barely pocketable. At least the spring-loaded attachment system makes it easy to fit, with compatibility back to the iPhone 4. Pros Adds multiple buttons to your iPhone; works well; wide compatibility. CONS Ergonomic benefit cancelled out by reduced phone portability. WE SAY A great concept, but of limited appeal for everyday use.
