If you don’t want to record people in your shots taken at popular locations, get there early! There are other options: for instance, fit a strong neutral-density filter to the lens and use a very long exposure to blur any moving people. Alternatively, take several shots from the same position, waiting for people to move between each picture, and merge the results in Photoshop.
