Your position

In street photography you can’t usually control the light or the subject, but you can control where you stand to shoot from. This allows you to then determine how much of the light you see on the subject and how much shadow you see. This is a critical part of the process, but is rarely acknowledged. Walk around the area you expect the subject to be in to see how the light looks different from a range of positions.
