THE GREAT OUTDOORS
DAVE WS
Morag and Ted say: “This is a wonderfully dynamic image, capturing a real sense of the setting sun bathing the mountains, combined with the tandem paraglider seemingly floating in space. The image is composed well; Dave managed to get the shot at just the right moment, with the parachute below the dark line of the mountains yet with plenty of space below it.”
2nd Sophie Schneeberger
“A moody and brooding shot of Scotland’s west coast at its most dramatic. The shafts of light penetrating the overall feeling of stormy darkness punctuate the scene very effectively. Sophie has paid attention to her camera’s shutter speed, resulting in the pleasing texture in the water, and the combination of a strong foreground receding into the distant peaks works well.”

“An excellent capture from a well known photographic destination in Iceland, which utilises the square format to maximum advantage. The strong diagonals in the sky compliment the spiky mountain tops splendidly. The angle of light plays beautifully on the rock, capturing the textures and the flush of green growth on stone.”
