Breathtaking resolution, now at 10 frames per second!

Sony’s Alpha 7R full-frame mirrorless cameras have proved a major hit – particularly the A7R II, which ushered in Sony’s brilliant

42.4-megapixel sensor. It’s not quite the highest you can find for a full-frame sensor – the Nikon D850 and the Canon EOS 5DS go higher still – but it’s still one of the sharpest, especially when combined with Sony’s latest pro lenses.

The only snag with the preceding A7R II was its relatively pedestrian continuous shooting speed – the inevitable drawback of a high-resolution sensor. With the A7R III, however, Sony has transformed this camera’s performance – not by offering a modest incremental upgrade, but by literally doubling its speed.

This means the A7R III can rattle off 10 of its 42.4-megapixel images every second, and it can capture up to 76 compressed raw files in a single burst. It even has a silent shooting mode. This makes the Alpha 7R III a supremely versatile professional workhorse.
