TO IMPRO VE YOUR SHOT …

Get low to the ground so you’re at the same level as the flower.

Use a macro lens set to a large aperture, and focus on the edge of the nearest petal.

Check the background for distractio­ns, and adjust your framing to avoid them.

Top tip: Place some tin foil at the base or to the side of the flower to reflect light back into the flower’s petals.
