Five lucky readers could win a copy of Nik Collection 2 by DxO – the ultimate set of photographer-friendly image tools

-

Nik Collection is recognised as perhaps the definitive set of image correction plugins made with photographers in mind. It’s had an eventful history that’s seen it pass from its original developer Nik Software to Google – and now to DxO, a software developer known for its commitment to making innovative technology easy for anyone to use.

With the release of Nik Collection 2 in June 2019, DxO has started to make its mark on this famous software suite.

Nik Collection is comprised of seven plugins that work within Photoshop and Lightroom, as well as DxO’s own image editor PhotoLab 2 – the Essential Editon of which is included with Nik Collection, making the software ready to use without an Adobe Creative Cloud plan.

The integration of DxO PhotoLab 2 brings other benefits to Nik Collection. The plugins’ famous U Point Control System, which makes it simple for you to add and adjust localised effects in an area of your photo, can now be applied directly to your raw images rather

than having to convert to JPEG first. You also get access to DxO’s advanced optical correction tools, addressing lack of sharpness, vingetting, lens distortion and chormatic aberrations.

The inclusion of DxO PhotoLab 2 Essential Edition is not the only improvement DxO has made with the release of Nik Collection 2. There are 42 new presets shared between Analog Efex Pro, Color Efex Pro, HDR Efex Pro and Silver Efex Pro, giving you more choices of easy-to-apply effects.

There’s also improved support for highresolution displays, making the Nik Collection interface sharper and crisper with Windows HiDPI monitors in addition to the macOS version if you’re using one of the new generation of pixel-doubling monitors. Main windows in the interface can take advantage of the extra on-screen space, and images are displayed at full resolution.

Nik Collection remains an essential tool in any digital photographer’s arsenal – and we’ve got five copies up for grabs in this competition, courtesy of DxO. Check out the entry details below – and good luck!
