Sony targets vloggers

New ZV-1 compact is designed to be a vlogging superstar and is optimised for vertical video

Vloggers rejoice – Sony’s latest camera has been conceived, designed and built for vlogging. The compact ZV-1 shares some tech with the brand’s RX100 compact cameras – a 24-70mm-equivalent f/1.8-2.8 zoom, and a 1-inch type 20MP sensor – but the body, controls and audio are all new.

So is the rear screen, a fully vari-angle unit that’s ideal for shooting video vertically – the de rigueur orientation for consuming vlogs on a smartphone.
