Mourne Mountains, Northern Ireland
The Mourne Mountains can be challenging. No forecast is accurate here, as the hills are over 700 metres high and the Irish Sea is nearby. The hills are very exposed, so the weather can be life-threatening. The views from the Silent Valley reservoir are mesmerising. Unfortunately on this occasion I couldn’t get to the top because of the low cloud covering the peak. I used a Manfrotto carbon-fibre tripod to keep the camera steady.
