Get to know your audience with Insights
One of the benefits of setting up a Business profile rather than Personal profile is access to the Insights tool. This provides a breakdown of your performance on Instagram, including new followers, profile views, impressions, number of posts, reach, website clicks and email clicks. Once you’ve been posting for a while, you’ll also be able to see the makeup of your regular audience, including their age, gender and where they’re from. This can equip you to start tailoring posts to suit your audience, but even if you don’t want to do that, it’s downright fascinating to know who and where your audience are. Studying your Instagram reach and impressions is vital because you need to know how people are interacting with the content that you post. If you’re not tracking this, you’ll have a hard time knowing what your audience likes.
Insights can feel like a bunch of overwhelming graphs, numbers, and jargon, especially if you’re new to looking at these types of metrics. The good news is that this is a lot easier to understand than it looks. Remember, Instagram success is an iterative process: try, review, improve, and try again.
