Q Where have you eaten out recently and enjoyed? A Maison des Lys, in Mt Eden. When you think of a croissant, flakey, buttery pastry is the first thing that comes to mind, but Drissilla David’s plant-based patisserie is every bit as delicious as their traditional predecessors. Every day their cabinet is stocked with the classics, alongside danishes, pastries, and delicacies inspired by seasonal produce.

Not just for vegans, a visit is highly recommended asap. Q Tell us about something you’ve cooked this month. A Sarah’s No-bake Chocolate Coffee Caramel Slice from Issue 113 has been my go-to gift when visiting friends over the summer months. It’s delicious cut and stored in the freezer and perfect for snacking on anytime. Q What recipe are you most excited about in this issue? A Olivia’s Sweetcorn, Ricotta and Polenta Balls (page 94). I will enjoy them on balmy evenings shared with friends over a chilled glass of wine.

We’re proud to plate up another great issue of dish, and here are some of the lovely people behind it! Caitlin Whiteman Digital Editor @caitlin.whiteman

Q Where have you eaten out recently and enjoyed?

The farmers market saga continues and I’m not sorry! On this episode of the tour, I ventured slightly south to the Clevedon Village Farmers Market – come hungry because you are going to be overwhelmed with treats that draw inspiration from around the world..

Q Tell us about something you’ve cooked this month.

Tasty pasta and noodle dishes are always on rotation in my household but this particular month probably saw more than I’d like to admit. One of my faves that I tried was Olivia’s Sichuan Dan Dan Noodles from issue #93.

Q What recipe are you most excited about in this issue?

The Pork Prawn and Chive Wonton Soup looks right up my alley and Claire has confirmed it’s a fun and easy one!

Q Where have you eaten out recently and enjoyed? A Anise, the new offering from

Sid and Chand in the space formerly known as The French Café. It’s an Asian-fusion blend of deliciousness. There are delicate flavours paired with spice and surprising combinations that totally work. The service is exceptional and the cocktails and wine menu well considered. A must-visit. Q Tell us about something you’ve cooked this month. A I’ve been trying to replicate the delicious poké bowls we ate in Hawaii and on some nights have had rice left over which I’ve turned into stir-fried rice the next night. I’ve been experimenting with spicy flavours to make it more interesting. Q What recipe are you most excited about in this issue? A I’m a big fan of soups and all of them in this selection appeal particularly the Green Lentil Soup with a kick of spice (page 40) and the Chicken Curry Noodle Soup (page 44) which sounds like a great combination.

Q Where have you eaten out recently and enjoyed? A I visited Waihi Beach with my family last month and had dinner at The Secret Garden. They have very good authentic Mexican street food. There was a familyfriendly open mic night event and the atmosphere was really nice. Q Tell us about something you’ve cooked this month. A Chicken Laksa. That’s one of my favourite meals! I enjoy trying different recipes and noodle combinations each time I cook. Q What recipe are you most excited about in this issue? A Usually, I don’t have a sweet tooth but I’m keen to try the Chocolate trifle. Looks so good.
