Here’s an example of a great idea gone hideously wrong. The aim was to give a clutch of rave faves a classical music makeover. Somewhere the plot got lost (dare we suggest “disco damaged”!) and the result is something that’s a little bit dance-y, a little bit classical, but a whole lotta Muzak. It’s the sort of thing you recoil from in horror when the original artists are dismissed and their songs so watered down they might literally have been murdered. Moby’s Porcelain and Go, Inner City’s Good Life and Faithless’ Insomnia all make the hit list and are gunned down. Classic House makes you appreciate the originals.
