Joseph Vumbaco of Joee Vee Photography, New York, uses the bed as his canvas, with his models inviting us to join them in moments of captured intimacy. A naked man in bed in front of a camera also comes with certain connotations.

Joseph acknowledges that there is line between pornography and art and believes that line exists somewhere in the mind of the viewer. “My photography showcases the male body in its natural state, focusing on the shapes and curves… whether you want to view my photography in a sexual way or artistically is up to you,” he says. “Personally, I find restrained images like these sexier than porn because porn gives it all away, leaving nothing to the imagination. My photography leaves you guessing, imagining what’s under that sheet.”
