THE QUEEN OF THE RHINE

There’s a new way to cruise in 2019.

A GAY CRUISE doesn’t have to be an over-stuffed ocean liner! Australian tour operator, Hermes Holidays, now in their third year, are presenting a sexy and sophisticated gay cruise alternative. Their Queen Of The Rhine cruise departs Amsterdam and travels Europe’s stunning Rhine River to Frankfurt over a leisurely eight days.

The experience starts with two nights in Amsterdam during the famous Pride event, when colourful barges fill the canals and LGBTIQ revellers and friends dance the night away at iconic parties like Fun House and Rapido or join in the hedonistic madness of the city’s street parties.

The Queen Of The Rhine tour ship, The A is described as “the newest, sleekest and sexiest” with interiors designed in the style of a boutique W Hotel. Once the cruise sets sail from Amsterdam, the party onboard continues with Australian superstar DJ Dan Murphy taking up residency and brining his popular I Remember House Party to the water.

This Hermes Holidays event seems to have a couple of advantages over other cruise tours. Often, cruise customers are slugged with a hefty “extras” tab at checkout – those nights at the bar and minibar treats can add up. But Hermes promise that every single drink for the entire week is included in the up-front cost – so shout the whole bar! Also included in the price are all shore excursions, gratuities and wi-fi.

As well as the onboard parties, the tour has an array of experiences planned for their guests. These include a night out at the bars and clubs of Cologne, cycling along the banks of the Rhine, wine tasting in the vineyards of Vollrads Castle and a gala dinner hosted by Princess Heidi Von Hohnenzollern at Namedy Castle. So pack a black-tie ensemble and be prepared to mingle with royalty.

Twin Bed Cabins start at $AUD 3,750 per person, and Triple Bed Cabins at $3,300 AUD per person.
