Harry and Dawn Mcdermott celebrate 60 years of marriage
ON June 28, 1958, Harry and Dawn Mcdermott were married at Marrickville, NSW.
On June 9, 2018, Harry and Dawn’s four daughters, Debbi, Diane, Robyn and Vicki, organised a surprise 60th Wedding Anniversary at Club Dubbo where they not only celebrated this great milestone but the daughters also organised a surprise marriage vow renewal service. Celebrant Sue Curley conducted the service.
In attendance was the couple’s flower girl (Dawn’s little sister Liz) and maid of honour (Dawn’s cousin Lorraine) from the original wedding who walked Dawn for a second time down the aisle.
Family and friends from Sydney, Queensland, South Coast and even Tasmania came to join in on this wonderful night. Some of the family and friends hadn’t seen Harry and Dawn for over 40 years.
The night was a great surprise and very enjoyable, with amazing food and speeches along with the wedding cake from 60 years ago being replicated by Daisy Chain Cakes.
The couple has four daughters, 17 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, with many more to come.
