Though primarily singleplayer, you can engage in local battles with other Yo-Kai handlers. Combat, however, lacks the depth of Pokémon, and there are no options other than a straight fight. The focus of the post-game is on upgrading your watch to S-rank and locating additional Yo-Kai to fill the gaps in your collection. Several bosses reappear under different names, their palettes swapped and their health bars extended, before a climactic encounter against a robust new opponent.
