The things that caught our eye during the production of E294
FOOTWEAR
Having already committed to hawking cars for Mercedes via Mario Kart, a leap to haulage vehicles might be the next logical step for Nintendo. The company elected to focus on a different variety of (wait for it) Vans, however, and is collaborating with the Californian footwear manufacturer on a collection of trainers. The range, which launches this summer and is available across a number of Vans’ existing styles, sports imagery from various 8bit classics including DuckHunt, SuperMarioBros and DonkeyKong. Some of the designs are a little more, uh, confrontational than others, but a relatively subdued Mario block pattern and a navy, red and mustard The Legend Of Zelda composition aren’t entirely horrible, actually.

TWEETS
