There’s one more kind of collectible, though they require a bit more effort to attain. Tonics are RPG-style modifiers that double as an in-game accomplishment system. You might earn one by killing 100 enemies, or by finding every one of a different collectible type within the first two worlds, for example. They’re entirely optional, but allow players to further define their playstyle. One reduces the power consumption of Yooka’s roll, which means fewer pit stops for butterflies during race challenges, while another lets you use his tongue to eat Quills that lie just beyond your normal reach.
