If the developer’s name suggests this is one off the production line, it’s hard to remember the last time we saw a classic, top-down JRPG on a home console. Its crisp, wintry looks are attractive in an unassuming way, while its piano soundtrack dovetails nicely with themes of sacrifice and sorrow. There’s something charming, too, about the way your party skids into position during encounters, launching into Active Time Battles with a momentum-based twist.
